Grounds Coffee Roasters is a Melbourne-based specialty coffee roastery and cafe group with four locations across Melbourne's inner north. Founded in 2016 by ex-barista champions, Grounds sources single-origin beans directly from farms in Ethiopia, Colombia, Guatemala, and Sumatra, paying above Fairtrade minimums to ensure farmer sustainability. Each roast batch is small (20-40kg) to ensure consistency and freshness, with beans dispatched within 48 hours of roasting for online orders. The cafe menu features espresso and filter brew methods (V60, Aeropress, Chemex), seasonal single-origin filter options, and a food menu focused on breakfast and brunch using local Victorian produce. Online subscriptions deliver fresh beans weekly, fortnightly, or monthly with roast profile notes and brew guides. Grounds holds three SCAA-certified Q Graders on staff.
