Worth every bit of the 2.5hr drive from Sydney
Visited on a clear mid-winter day. The Three Sisters were glowing amber in the afternoon light and the viewpoint was less crowded than I expected. We did the Leura Cascades walk afterwards and it was equally beautiful. Highly recommend the Scenic World gondola for views from above the canopy. Bring warm clothes — it's genuinely cold up here even when Sydney is warm.

Nothing in Australia prepares you for this view
I've been to 40+ countries and the Three Sisters at sunrise is genuinely one of the most spectacular sights I've ever seen. The blue haze from the eucalyptus oil is real — photographs don't do it justice. We walked the Giant Stairway (prepare your knees) and took the Scenic Railway back up. Perfect full-day itinerary. Go in winter if you can — mist between the valleys is magical.
